Homeplace offers a chance to look back

Members of the community are invited to the Homeplace for their annual Trades Fair, Labor Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday Sept. 2 and 3. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the tradespeople who keep traditional skills alive.

The Homeplace will be hosting craftspeople from nearby areas who will be showcasing their talents in historic trades that were common during the 1850’s. They will have a variety of trades on display as well as vendors on the farm. There will be some fun kids’ activities, including making a pinch pot, weaving, candle dipping and an archaeological dig.

The Trades Fair will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. both days. Come out and bring the family to the Homeplace for a day on the Farm! The following activities will be available for kids:
